What Bangkok Up is
Bangkok Up is an independent travel guide to a single city, compiled and maintained by our editorial team from official and public sources. The whole site grows out of one observation: Bangkok overwhelms people not because it lacks things to do, but because it has too many, all competing against heat, traffic, dress codes and the river. The guide exists to do the sequencing for you — which sights to see early, which neighborhood to sleep in, when to be on a boat instead of in a taxi, and where to duck indoors when the midday sun or an afternoon downpour arrives.
Rather than a thin listicle for every search term, each page is a real guide with a point of view: a quick take up top, a structured body that walks you through the practical decisions, and an honest facts card for the volatile details. The category hubs — Things to Do, Where to Stay, Food & Drink, Itineraries, Day Trips, Practical Tips, Bangkok by Month and Events — let you plan from the top down without losing the on-the-ground detail.
Who writes it
Bangkok Up is compiled and maintained by the Bangkok Up editorial team. Guides are built from official transit operators, temple and venue authorities, tourism bodies and other public data — temple routes, BTS and MRT lines, river-boat piers, hotel-area trade-offs, food districts and seasonal events — and are reviewed and updated regularly. We don't accept payment for inclusion.
The promise that shapes every page is simple: Bangkok feels effortless when the heat, traffic, tickets and timing are handled honestly. If a page can't help you make a better decision on the ground, it doesn't belong here.
