What this is

The nine-day Jay festival is expected to fill Chinatown with yellow-flagged meat-free food, shrine visits and Chinese-Thai merit-making. The lunar period can be planned around, but Bangkok has not yet published the detailed Yaowarat street programme.

02

Why go

  • Yellow-flagged Jay food stalls around Yaowarat
  • Chinese-Thai shrine ceremonies
  • Meat-free versions of Thai and Chinese dishes
03

Plan it well

  • Treat the range as provisional until Bangkok announces its programme
  • Use MRT Wat Mangkon and expect heavy pedestrian traffic
